Review of "Alice Isn't Dead" written by Joseph Fink

This month, I read the incredible horror novel, Alice Isn't Dead. The imagery in this book is visceral and nightmarish, while also being refreshingly real.

The main character, Keisha, is looking for her wife, Alice, who disappeared out of thin air several years ago. One thing that caught my attention was the unusual story structure. Instead of starting the book by introducing the main character and her background, this book jumps straight into the action. In Chapter 1, we meet Keisha, the sole witness to a horrifying supernatural event of unbelievable nature.  Which takes place in the alley behind a truck stop diner. The combination of a shocking demonic attack and the unglamorous, common setting perfectly sets the scene for the rest of the book, which kept me engaged the whole way through.

It's important to know that this book first started as a podcast. The creator, Joseph Fink, is also known for Welcome To Night Vale, the novelization of which is currently available for sale on Epic Quest Book's website. If you're curious about this book, I recommend listening to the 2-minute podcast teaser trailer on Spotify to get a sense of the vibe.

Overall, this was a great spooky read and I would highly recommend it to anyone intrigued by all things strange and paranormal. It's a 10/10 for me!
